About the Event
This September, Build-A-Fort will return to Nashville's African Street Festival. This year's installation honors the architectural and community legacy of McKissack & McKissack, placing seven historic Nashville buildings in conversation with elements of Build-A-Fort -- Foundation, Walls, Windows, Doors, and Roof -- through artmaking, reflection, history, and collaborative play.
I'm looking for people to help tend the installation and welcome participants throughout the festival on Saturday and Sunday. You don't need to be an artist or facilitator; an Installation Guide explains the experience and what volunteers are supporting.
If you'd like to be involved, there are a few ways you can help:
Come experience Build-A-Fort during the African Street Festival (September 19 & September 20).
Volunteer some of your time as an Installation Guide.
