About the Event
Join us for our third installment of the Health Justice Leadership Lab. This is Black Mental Health Village's public health training institute and community organizing initiative that equips Black community members and people most impacted by systemic injustices with the knowledge, skills, and power to address the root causes of health inequities, not just individual symptoms. For the "No Menthol Sunday Community Education" session we will be informing guests on:
1) The harmful history of Big Tobacco in the Black Community
2) Annual No Menthol Sunday campaign created by the Center for Black Health and Equity
3) The importance of engaging faith and community leaders to educate congregants about smoking and vaping.
4) The implications of tobacco addiction among people of all ages.
5) Tools and actions you can take to address and make changes towards a healthier and tobacco-free communities.
